ogrenizer — who sends, how permission is obtained, and how to stop
Effective: August 1, 2026Last updated: August 1, 2026
Who is sending, and to whom
ogrenizer is job-tracking software used by small service businesses — window cleaners, pressure washers, and similar trades. When one of those businesses quotes, schedules, invoices, or thanks a customer, ogrenizer sends that message on the business's behalf from a phone number ogrenizer operates.
So the sending number belongs to ogrenizer, but the message identifies the business the customer actually hired, and it is only ever about a job that customer requested. A recipient has a relationship with the business; ogrenizer is the software carrying the message. Messages read like this:
Ogre Window Care: your quote is ready. [link]
We do not text anyone on our own behalf. ogrenizer sends no marketing of its own to these numbers, and businesses on the platform cannot message anyone outside their own customer list.
How customers opt in
There is no keyword to text and no short code. Customers never text us first, and there is no "text JOIN to…" call to action, because numbers are not collected that way.
A customer gives their mobile number to the business when they contact it to request work — by phone or in person — and the business asks, out loud, whether it's alright to text them about that job. Businesses are instructed to use these words:
What the customer is asked
Is it alright if we text you updates about this job? We'd send your quote, your appointment confirmation, your invoice, and your receipt to this number. It's usually fewer than ten messages, message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP any time to stop them. Is that okay?
Messaging only begins on a clear yes. If the customer declines or is unsure, they are not texted — the business uses phone or email instead, and it makes no difference to the work or the price.
How the answer is recorded and enforced
The business records the answer against that customer's record in ogrenizer, together with the date it was given and how it was obtained (verbal, written, or web form).
ogrenizer will not send a message to any customer without that stored consent record. The check runs on our server, not in the interface, so having a phone number on file is never by itself treated as permission to text. Numbers are never bought, rented, or imported from third-party lists — every number was given directly by the person it belongs to.
What gets sent
- A quote, and a link to review or accept it
- Confirmation of a scheduled appointment
- An invoice, and a link to pay it
- A receipt and thank-you when the job is finished
These are service messages about the customer's own job. No marketing or promotional texts are sent, and the software has no bulk or broadcast messaging feature.
Frequency, cost, and stopping
Message frequency varies and depends on the job. A typical job involves fewer than 10 messages from first quote to final receipt. Messages stop when the job is complete.
Message and data rates may apply. Neither ogrenizer nor the business charges for messages, but the recipient's mobile carrier may.
To stop: reply STOP to any message. One confirmation follows and nothing after that unless the customer replies START. Stopping texts does not cancel any service — the business will use phone or email instead. The opt-out is also recorded against the customer's record, which blocks further sends to that number.
For help: reply HELP to any message, or contact the business directly, or reach us at the address below.
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
